Just returned from Caribbean holiday where I used this camera
for the first time. Bought this as my previous Canon camera is
too large to fit in pocket. Did a great job! Looks a quality
camera,as well!Just used it on auto setting and dead easy to
use. I bought the leather Canon Digital Ixus Case (pretty cheap
from Amazon) to protect it. I recommend both. Also buy yourself
a big SD card (I used 4 gig - about 2000 photos - Should be
enough!) Good quality,low price - Can’t go
wrong!

Although I have only
owned this camera for a few weeks, I am delighted with
the ease of use and the quality of the images it
produces. It is compact and has a feel of quality. I have
yet to explore fully all the features, and have based my
opinion on using it it ‘Auto’
mode.

There’s not a lot left
for me to say that hasn’t already been said. Absolute
bargain, and top notch camera. I was looking for a new
digital camera and the amount of positive online reviews
just kept drawing me back to The Ixus 80. You won’t be
disappointed. I also wanted a camera with a decent
microphone, to record and video acoustic guitar, and
again earlier reviews on here praised the microphone
(more in line with camcorder quality microphone, not
brittle sound like most digital cameras). Have also had a
lot fun with the Time Lapse feature, I.e Lets you record
at 1 or 2 frames per second, so you can condense 2 hours
worth of Time Lapse video into just 8 minutes (1 fps).
Again with SD cards so cheap, (I picked up 2 x 8GB on
Ebay for £20), memory capacity shouldn’t be any problem -
1 8GB card alone can record a full 1 hour @ 360 fps high
quality video. Photography is so simple. If your just
shooting in automatic mode, then one simple light touch
of shutter button will set the focus, and a full press
will deliver a crisp sharp shot. Macro facility also very
good. *** Just buy this camera, it’s an absolute
steal and simplicity personified to use
